This is the sourceforge homepage for the SMART Archiver project. This project was at first a software engineering project at the Technical University of Eindhoven, but has now been released into the public domain. What is the SMART Archiver
The SMART Archiver was designed as a replacement for the standard Mailman archiver (pipermail) but can also be used without mailman, it provides a searchable overview of an e-mail archive over the web. Features: Gives a threaded overview of messages in a given time period. Allows users to sort the archive by subject, date, thread, sender and attachment types. Allows users to search the archive over the web. Understands MIME attachments and allows searching in plain-text attachments. Allows administrators to add, remove and edit both messages and attachments. Intergrates with mailman. Allows users to download all messages in a specific overview in mbox format. Can import messages from mbox format. Allows for three levels of access control: public (world readable), available to subscribers (only available when mailman integration is used) or available to anyone who knows the archive password. Can automaticly remove messages from the archive after a certain amount of time. Requirements Apache 1.3 or higher. Postgres 7.0 or higher. pyPgSQL 2.4 or higher (homepage) Python 2.2 or higher.
